Best Strategies for Improving Dutch Pronunciation?

Hallo Everyone,

I’ve been learning Dutch for a few months now, and while my vocabulary and grammar are improving, I still struggle a lot with pronunciation. Some sounds, like the guttural “g” and the diphthongs (ui, eu, ij), are particularly difficult for me as a non-native speaker.

I try to listen to native speakers and repeat what I hear, but I often feel like I’m not getting the sounds quite right. I’ve also been using resources like DutchPod101 and some YouTube channels, but I’d love to hear from others who have successfully improved their pronunciation.

Do you have any tips or specific exercises that helped you? Are there any particular apps, videos, or books you’d recommend? Also, how important do you think it is to work with a native speaker or a tutor for pronunciation?

I also checked this: https://forum.nl-ganz-schnell.de/t/woordwissel-wortwechsel/tableau

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Delilniya,

Thanks for your message. It seems quite generic though, I assume you’re a bot. That’s why I blocked this thread for now.

If I’m mistaken, please send me a personal message through the forum.

Kind regards,
